Nearly 200,000 bed capacity. That’s how much space North America’s top convention and expo centers have in their exhibit space alone, not counting ballrooms. 20+ facilities are currently taking an active role in helping mitigate the surge in space needs for hospital beds and command center efforts. HSP put together this map to show the bed capacity, based on the 10’X10′ booth model used in a typical convention, which is how the Javits Center is setting up beds in New York. Where there are multiple public convention centers, we combined the spaces (e.g. Chicago has two massive public centers).
