The East Montgomery County Improvement District (EMCID) is pleased to release Part I of its Request for Qualifications and Proposals (RFQ|P) for the development of a hotel adjacent to the new EMCID Convention Center and Valley Ranch Entertainment District in New Caney, Texas. Hunden Partners is serving as EMCID’s development advisor and is assisting EMCID in administering and facilitating the RFQ|P process. Currently under construction within Valley Ranch Town Center, the EMCID Convention Center will serve as the centerpiece of a growing hospitality and entertainment district. The approximately 210,000-square-foot facility is expected to open in late 2026 and will feature a 55,000-square-foot ballroom/exhibit hall, 20,000 square feet of meeting space, approximately 40,000 square feet of lobby, pre-function, and outdoor areas, and an attached 800-space structured parking garage. The EMCID Board of Directors approved a recommendation on June 1, 2026 to enter exclusive negotiations with Oak View Group for the management of the district’s new 210,000-square-foot convention center. EMCID is seeking experienced hotel developers with demonstrated expertise in financing, design, construction, ownership, and operations to participate in this catalytic hospitality opportunity. Part I of the RFQ|P is intended to identify qualified development teams for advancement to Part II, the Request for Proposals (RFP).
