ECONOMIC IMPACT ANALYSIS

Meaning Behind the Metrics

Hunden specializes in diving into the numbers – and more importantly, the metrics behind the numbers – to find real meaning, value, insight, and learning opportunities. Hunden determines the expected net new economic, fiscal, and employment impacts for a proposed development or event and completes this crucial projection/analysis service for 80 percent of its studies. Impact studies are the public sector’s return on investment analysis and are critical to rationalizing public involvement. The economic, fiscal and employment impact analysis determines the direct, indirect, and induced impacts, including tax generation, new full-time equivalent jobs and net new spending. We also assess the one-time construction impact on the community, including jobs and taxes. Hunden uses one of the industry’s most relied upon input-output multiplier models, IMPLAN, to measure impact based on the local economy.
