The Hunden Partners‘ recent comprehensive feasibility study for the Portland Expo Center revealed a significant opportunity for more regional sports facilities, from youth to professional levels.
We found the City of Portland is at an inflection point with a need for revitalization, and that sports can be a huge catalyst for that. There is a strong opportunity for development that can enhance the Metro area. Bringing sports to the forefront can be a new way for Portland to present itself as a regional hub for sports while leveraging the current professional team and sports corporate presence. The transformation of the Expo Center could also honor the site’s rich history while positioning Portland as a regional sports hub and boosting the local economy and community engagement.
